Wajih Tariq Effendi is VP Strategy at Caterpillar Inc., based in Dallas, Texas. The world's largest manufacturer of construction, mining, and industrial equipment, Caterpillar operates across every continent — and Wajih leads the enterprise-wide strategic planning that shapes its future.

A Cornell University graduate with degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Engineering Management, Wajih has spent 20+ years applying that foundation at the highest levels of global industry — from Schlumberger's oil fields to Accenture's strategy boardrooms to BG Group's London headquarters.

Before settling in the Dallas-Houston corridor, Wajih lived and worked in London, Mexico City, Tokyo, New Orleans, and Paris — bringing a genuinely global perspective to every strategic challenge. He was named and quoted in the Financial Times in 2014 for his expertise on Mexico's landmark energy reform.

In the Houston community, Wajih is known as the founder of PlatyPirates, an all-girls FIRST Robotics team that has won State Championships, and as Chair of Cornell's Houston alumni admissions network.
